Pterandon

 

• Late Cretaceous
• North America and Europe
• 23 foot wingspan

• Belonged to the first reptiles to take to the air. It was a Pterodactyl. They were probably gliders and relied on hot-air currents to stay in flight. Pteranodon likely feed like modern pelicans scooping up fish. Lived before the first bird Archaeopteryx appeared.
